Hello!

You've reached the journal of [livejournal.com profile] amergina!

Who am I? Well, I'm a writer. By day, I write technical manuals for a software firm, and by night I write fiction. I tend to concentrate on various forms of fantasy and science fiction. I'm also an Associate Editor at Entangled Publishing.

When I'm not writing or editing, I'm playing in the garden.

I enjoy cooking without recipes. I love all things coffee. I'm both a stay-at-home type of person and an international traveler. I'm an enigma wrapped in bacon and powered by java.

In LJ-land, I'm one of the moderators of [livejournal.com profile] christianity and [livejournal.com profile] ljbreviary. If you need to contact me in regard to those communities, please do so here.

Thanks!

Sure! I'll add you back, but be forewarned that my journal is pretty dull. :)

Middle Eastern Culture in BMDL

Hello;

I was looking for other SCAdians in the BMDL region interested in ME culture and arts. Are you active and interested in perhaps working on projects?

You may know me as Baron Dur.

Hi Dur,

I am active, yes. In fact, I'm an officer. :) I'm Anna, the Chronicler of the BMDL.

I am generally interested in ME culture. My persona is Byzantine, but I also have a personal interest in Turkish/Ottoman things.

However, I'm going to be rather short on free time soon as I'm about to go to grad school for a Masters in Creative Writing, so I don't know if I'll have much time to work on projects. Its going to be hard enough to get the Althing out every month.

Good luck on classes! I spent 20 years of my career as a Technical Writer (I know there's a difference, truly I do.) Hated it, but made a decent living off of it.

I told Odrianna of your interest in Turkish cooking. Mind if I friend you so that if we get some interesting things going, I can include you in the information.

And thanks for your work on the news letter. I also did one years ago for SCA ME interests.

My day job is technical writing. I enjoy it from the intellectual stimulation, and the pay is good, but it doesn't move my soul like creative writing.

I've friended you back, though my journal is fairly boring.

Hey, this is [livejournal.com profile] accompagnato...I changed my username but didn't do auto-redirect this time.

I could have sworn that if you friended someone, they would be able to see your entries even if they hadn't friended you back. Apparently this is not the case (!?) so please add me again!

Hey -- friending you, if you don't mind. I've long enjoyed and appreciated your input and moderation on [livejournal.com profile] christianity -- I'm quite impressed with all of the current mods as a whole, actually -- and out of curiosity I visited your LJ and saw you're a writer and a fan of SF/F and a book lover and a coffee enthusiast and a resident of Pittsburgh, one of my favorite metro areas in which I don't live. Clearly someone I must get to know. *smiles* Hope it's OK; if not, please let me know and I'll de-add you (which sounds better than "I'll subtract you").

No problem. The internet can be a really hard means to communicate, too.

I'll add you, sure, but I should warn you that I'm kind of boring... :)

Hello, I just Friended you. I've seen you around the Catholic and Christianity communities for a while and you seem like a nice and interesting enough person, so I drafted you for "team freindlist."

Hi. I submitted a post to the christianity community about an event I planned. It's been several days and no one has approved or declined my post, so I feel like I'm being ignored. Last year the event was not well received but I had hoped maybe this year members would understand. Well, now I feel bad about being a member of the community and trying to contribute at all, so I request that you decline my post before I leave the community. That way I don't leave my post unanswered. Thanks.

I'm sorry you felt like you were being ignored. You aren't.

All of us moderators work full time in our respective countries and have many other obligations outside of LiveJournal. Sometimes, due to lives getting busy, we don't get to posts in the queue right away. Your post isn't the only one sitting in there at the moment, by the way.

Also, it's been just over 48 hours since you submitted your post on 6/5 at 17:22. It's 6/7 17:30 (as I am writing this comment)

There's nothing inherently wrong with the post and I would have pushed it through if you had simply *asked* if there was a problem that accounted for the delay in posting.

However, per your request, I have deleted the post.

Have a nice day.

There's another post that went through that was posted just yesterday, so it does seem that way. But I do moderate my own community, so maybe the fact my post had a link in it required moderator approval?

Either way, the way some reacted to my post last year left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm just feeling overall depressed about something that I was trying to do, to uplift people. So, I went as far as to cancel the event on Facebook too.

Thank you for respecting my wishes. God bless.

Hello... I submitted a post to [livejournal.com profile] christianity ... will you please reject it if it hasn't been rejected already? It's not worth the cost.
